Resumption Newsletter
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, dear parents and guardians. Alhamdulillah, we are delighted to welcome our families as we prepare for the commencement of the 2026/2027 academic session at Zarban International Academy. As partners in the education, formation and wellbeing of our children, we share below the most important information for a smooth, safe and well-organised resumption.
Resumption Date
Monday, 21 September 2026
Applies To
Nursery · Primary · JSS 1 · JSS 2 · SS 1
School Days
Monday – Friday
School Hours
7:00am – 5:00pm
Our structured morning learning programme begins from 7:30am. Parents are encouraged to ensure children arrive early enough to settle properly before learning begins.
School Uniform & Appearance
The Academy will provide each student with one set of Main/Regular School Uniform, one set of Friday Wear and one set of Sportswear. These will be provided on or before the fourth week after resumption. While waiting, parents do not need to purchase any special temporary outfit — students may attend in neat, modest and appropriate clothing already available to them.
Parents should provide black school shoes (canvas) and white socks. Once issued: the Main School Uniform is worn for regular school days, Friday Wear on Fridays only, and Sportswear on the designated Sports Day only.
Parents who require additional sets may request them from the Academy; the applicable cost will be communicated accordingly. Our uniform standards emphasise modesty, neatness, safety and practicality.
Optional School Meal Programme
The Zarban School Meal Programme is optional. For families who subscribe, school-provided meals commence in the second week of October 2026. Parents opting into the programme should provide their child's meals during Weeks 1–3; parents who do not subscribe may continue providing meals throughout the session.
Further meal-programme and subscription information will be communicated separately.
Optional School Transport Service
The Academy intends to make an optional school transport service available to interested families. Arrangements will be finalised after discussions with parents, to properly understand areas of demand, suitable routes, pick-up and drop-off points, operational requirements and applicable charges.
Interested parents will be invited to indicate their preferred locations before routes and commencement arrangements are confirmed. No particular route, scope or timetable will be guaranteed until this consultation and planning process is complete, consistent with the Academy's transport framework.
Admissions & Entrance Assessments Continue
Admissions into available classes continue after resumption, subject to available spaces and the Academy's approved admissions process. Entrance and class-placement assessments continue, with dates for subsequent exercises communicated through official Academy channels.
Parents with prospective students — or families wishing to recommend Zarban to others — are welcome to contact the Academy for guidance on application and assessment. Please note: an application or assessment does not by itself constitute an offer of admission. Admission and class placement follow the Academy's approved criteria, capacity and placement process.
The results of the entrance and class placement assessments are ready — for immediate responses, please contact us via WhatsApp.
Before Your Child Resumes
Parents are kindly requested to ensure the Academy has accurate and current information about their child. Please confirm or update, where applicable:
Parents are responsible for keeping this information current throughout the session. Please check zarban.safsims.com and log in using your registered email and/or the Google account used for registration.
Health & Medication
Please provide accurate information about your child's health, allergies, medication and emergency needs.
Where medication must be administered during the school day: inform the Academy, complete the required medication authorisation, and provide the medication in its original labelled container with the relevant dosage and instructions.
Please do not send unrecorded medication with a child without following the Academy's approved procedure.
Important Parent Reminders
Attendance & Punctuality
Please notify the Academy promptly whenever your child will be absent or late. Attendance, movement and dismissal arrangements are both educational and safeguarding controls, so prompt, accurate notice matters.
Collection & Early Release
Children are released only through the approved collection process, and only to authorised persons. Any same-day change to collection arrangements should be communicated through the approved Academy channel; the Academy will verify the change using a contact already on record, and will not rely solely on a new number provided in the request. If a child is not collected by the end of the school day, they remain safely supervised at the Academy while the parent and emergency contacts are reached — a child is never sent outside the gate to wait, or released to an unauthorised person.
Payments
All school fees and other Academy payments must be made only through approved Academy payment channels. Do not make any Academy payment into the personal account of a staff member or officer. An official receipt is issued for payments received through the approved process.
Meetings with Staff
Routine parent meetings with teachers and other staff should ordinarily be by appointment, so that teaching and student supervision are not disrupted. Urgent matters affecting a child's immediate safety or welfare should, however, be raised without delay.
Safeguarding
Safeguarding contact details for the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy DSL will be communicated through the Academy's approved channels. Once available, you may report a safeguarding or child-protection concern directly to the DSL or Deputy DSL — you do not need to raise it with the class teacher first. Where there is immediate danger to a child, please contact the police, emergency services or another competent authority first.
Stay Connected
Parents are encouraged to rely only on information communicated through the Academy's official channels.
Messages circulated through unofficial parent groups, informal conversations or individual assurances should not be treated as official Academy communication unless confirmed through an approved channel.
At Zarban International Academy, we regard parents as partners in the education, formation and wellbeing of their children. As we begin the 2026/2027 academic session, we look forward to working together to nurture young people grounded in:
May Allah place barakah in the new academic session and make it a period of growth, learning and positive formation for every member of the Zarban family.
Jazakumullahu khairan for your trust, cooperation and partnership.
