A great school is not built on a good idea. It is built on disciplined governance, principled leadership, and systems.
The Board of Experts
The highest collective governance authority of Zarban Academy is the Board of Experts — a multi-disciplinary body of professionals, scholars, and community leaders who hold the institution accountable to its stated mission and standards.
The Board of Experts is not a ceremonial body. It has formal authority over critical institutional decisions: the appointment of teaching staff, the school's fee structure, curriculum policy, and the academic performance standards we hold ourselves to. It meets formally every term and annually for strategic review.
The Board of Experts includes expertise in:
The Proprietor
Zarban Academy was founded by a proprietor whose vision for Islamic education in Northern Nigeria is both personal and institutional. The school exists because of a conviction — held firmly and acted upon — that the complete Islamic education and the excellent academic education are one and the same thing.
The proprietor serves as the school's Founder and Patron, providing strategic direction, financial stewardship, and a founding mission that every member of the Zarban community is asked to carry forward.
The School Head
The School Head of Zarban Academy is the founding leader of the institution — selected through a rigorous national search, appointed by the proprietor in consultation with the Board of Experts, and held to the highest standards of academic leadership, Islamic character, and institutional vision.
Our School Head brings a minimum of ten years in education and three years in school leadership. They are highly fluent in English, functionally or operationally proficient in Arabic, and personally committed to the school's four-pillar philosophy. They were not hired to manage a school. They were appointed to lead a formation.
Institutional Design & Consultants
Zarban Academy's institutional design — its governance model, curriculum architecture, staffing framework, quality assurance systems, and operational standards — was developed by Tanzeel Consult Ltd., an education systems design and advisory firm, in partnership with A19. This professional foundation ensures that the school's systems are built to last — independent of any individual, scalable as the school grows, and accountable to the standards the proprietor established at founding.
